There is nothing new in the gameplay since the previous games. Assuming the role of the city governor you have a possibility to build the city of your dream. The game is set in the time of the Roman Empire. Be ready to construct towers, gates, bridges, and much more throughout the gameplay. Most of the missions are based on real events and locations. The combat system works better than it used to. You are given a number of different scenarios to go through. Each of them takes you to another place where you face varied tasks. The objectives are standard as for the genre. As for the rest, everything stays almost the same as it was in the original game.

Imperium Romanum Gold Edition features good graphics full of nicely represented environments and backgrounds. There is a great variety of nice details, which make the game even more interesting. All in all, the graphics is impressive anyway. The sound system is represented by well-selected sound effects and relevant background music which is atmospheric. Overall, you will go through numerous challenges and exciting storyline in this edition.
