Genre and what to do:
Strategy game. Space Empires IV Deluxe is the latest edition of the Space Empire games. As in all the previous games you are allowed here to create your own story. You are a supreme leader who rules an empire. Among your tasks are: to explore the universe, to take part in wars, to discover different worlds, to design spaceships, to build space stations, etc. At the beginning of the game choose a race out of 20 suggested to play. Much of the play time is devoted to combat. Defeat all your enemies before they defeat you. Besides combat you should customize your space ships, build different kinds of space stations, manage your resources and much more.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
The graphics is a weak point of this game. All the characters and environments look rather primitive. There is a great amount of tutorials and instructions throughout the game. It is easy to have success in the game when you follow them. The sound system is much better in Space Empires IV Deluxe than in Space Empire games. You are sure to like all the sound effects in the game.
