Shooter. The warlike Krainian Empire has invaded a peaceful country that mined minerals from solar system's asteroid belt. Only you a brave pilot can stop the intruders and protect our solar system! Take an ultramodern spaceship and begin dangerous adventure across our universe to defeat herds of ruthless enemies and threatening asteroids! There are three challenging game modes: Missions Mode, Arcade and Survival. Missions Mode offers you to fight your way to victory and glory through 100 intense levels that require completing different objectives. For example, you need to destroy the required number of asteroids in one mission, or protect the evac tower and power plants in the other one, or prevent the Krainian spacecrafts from capturing the mineral crates, etc. As you destroy enemies, numerous unique power-ups appear; they help you achieve the goal faster and make game play much interesting. If you select Arcade Mode, be ready to get as far as you can starting with 3 lives. And finally Survival Mode challenges you to destroy attacking enemies as long as you can, having 1 live only.

Darkside impresses you by graphics; planets, asteroids, enemy crafts and power plants look fantastic, they are well animated and done. As for music and sound effects, they are also well rendered and suit perfectly to the game atmosphere. There is quite amusing storyline, that is represented as black-and-white movie with voice of a narrator. All in all, Darkside is the well polished shooter that is worth-playing due to multiple game modes, impressive presentation, variety of power-ups and space crafts.
