Genre and what to do:
Action/RPG. Fallout 3 offers players to discover and explore huge and uninterrupted post apocalyptic world. You can walk around deserts for hours, admiring landscapes and destroying mutants. Giant insects, raiders, slavers, super mutants and more are nothing against superior Vault-Tec engineering. Each location, whether a village or deserted depot with rotted through locos or ruins of a plant, is real discovery. On finding pieces of new information, interesting side quests or a hiding place with rare stuff, you experience half-forgotten feeling of subjugation of unknown. The main storyline makes you explore bunkers, caves, tunnels, subway and streets of Washington DC, looking for the missed father. The final battle for the water pump station ends set of interesting endings, but unfortunately you can not accomplish unfinished business after the outcome.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Fallout 3 is the captivating action / RPG that impress you by stunning presentation. The designers made great work over the game visuals; they added 3D to the proprietary retro-futuristic style. Locations and interiors are picturesque regardless of fuzzy textures, absence of shadows and low detailed backgrounds. If nuclear catastrophe happened in the 50th, its consequences were exactly like that. The game pays great attention to killings; be ready to see plenty of smashed heads, torn extremities, maimed bodies and so on. One of the most interesting features is special mode of aiming shooting, named Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System. On pressing V.A.T.S. key, a player see movie with spectacular camera angles, watching slow brain flying towards a wall.
