Genre and what to do:
Arcade/ RPG. Imagine that your stepfather bequeathed your family castle and all the property to an evil stepbrother, and you got nothing. But you may win back the castle on the condition that you earn 300 000 gold coins within 80 days. You decide to grow pets and buy a small farm. Your task is to buy and sell pets, collect eggs, hatch eggs, grow new breeds, food your pets, treat them and protect from numerous monsters. In addition to that you visit different locations, where you speak with people, conduct trade, accomplish different quests for villagers, explore villages to find goodies and more.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Grimm's Hatchery is a unique mixture of classic arcade with role-playing game that features captivating game concept, colorful solid graphics, satisfactory sound effects and pleasant classic music. As for graphics, it is far away from perfection. Your pets look like tiny unpretentious creatures, which are difficult to differentiate. Backgrounds and villages are well designed, so you may even feel the atmosphere of Middle Ages. Characters are also well rendered but they lack of animation. When you are at a village you may talk to inhabitants; conversation is represented in the form of pop-up screens with text. All in all, Grimm's Hatchery is an original game that will keep up your interest to it till the end due to captivating game concept, variety of simple quests, and the possibility to create new breeds.
